African Bloodstone (also called African Heliotrope) comes specifically from South
Africa and is characterised by a darker, richer green base with prominent,
boldly-distributed blood-red iron oxide spots. Regular Bloodstone (Indian or
classic Heliotrope) tends to have a lighter green with smaller, more scattered
red flecks. African Bloodstone is generally considered more visually striking
and commands stronger retail interest.
We supply A, AA, and AAA grade African Bloodstone. AAA grade has the deepest
green colour with vivid, well-defined red spots and high polish. A grade is
great for value-oriented kits and bulk orders. We can send sample images of
current stock grades before you commit to your order.
Yes - African Bloodstone is a durable stone (6.5–7 on the Mohs scale) and works
very well for bracelets, pendants, and bead jewellery. We supply pre-drilled
beads in 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm round, as well as pendant drops in multiple forms,
all at wholesale pricing.
