Why choose us
Why Colour Quality Matters for Lapis Lazuli
Why Colour Quality Matters for Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli is sold based on its colour. The deeper and more even the blue, and the more visible the gold Pyrite flecks, the better the stone looks and the better it sells. Poor quality Lapis Lazuli has a pale, grey, or uneven blue  and sometimes the gold flecks are barely visible. This makes it hard to sell at a good price. We source Lapis Lazuli that has a rich, consistent deep blue with clear Pyrite marks, and we check each batch before sending it out. The stone your customers pick up in your store will look as good as the sample you approved.

Lapis Lazuli is a deep blue stone made up of several minerals  mainly Lazurite (which gives it the blue colour), Calcite (which creates white patches in some pieces), and Pyrite (the gold flecks you see on the surface). It has been mined and used for thousands of years, most famously in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Today the best quality Lapis Lazuli comes from Afghanistan, though it is also found in Chile, Russia, and other countries. It is used in jewellery, home decor, healing, and spiritual practice.

The main thing to look for is the depth and evenness of the blue colour. The best grade Lapis Lazuli  AAA  has a rich, even, deep blue with clearly visible gold Pyrite flecks and minimal or no white Calcite patches. AA grade has good blue with some Pyrite and a small amount of white. A grade may have more white patches and lighter blue, still a real Lapis Lazuli stone, but better suited for budget kits and displays where colour consistency is less critical. We can share sample images of current stock grades before you place your order.

Yes. We ship Lapis Lazuli to wholesale buyers in more than 15 countries including the USA, UK, Australia, and across Europe and the Middle East. All international orders come with the right export paperwork, full tracking, and support from our team until your order arrives.

Lapis Lazuli is one of the few stones that works equally well in spiritual retail and mainstream jewellery. The deep blue with gold flecks looks visually premium. Customers often assume it's more expensive than it is, which makes it easy to sell at a good margin. It also has a long history that gives it credibility and a story to tell  people recognise the name, and many have heard of it even if they don't know much about crystals. For jewellers, it is one of the most popular cabochon stones for silver settings. For crystal retailers, it sits in the throat and third eye chakra category, which has a large and growing audience. It sells well year-round with no strong seasonal dependency.
